We add your load and rigging together, then add a safety margin so the crane is not working right on its limit. That gives the minimum net capacity the crane must have at your working radius. Remember: rated capacity on a load chart drops sharply as the radius grows, so always read the chart at your actual reach — not the headline maximum.
